A French café is charging extra for customers with bad manners.
La Petite Syrah in Nice charges a whopping £5.80 if you simply ask for a coffee.
If the customer says “please”, then the drink costs £3.50. And if they say Bonjour as well as please, then the cost of the drink comes down to just £1.20.
Manager Fabrice Pepino said his staff had become fed up with people showing bad manners when they were in a rush during their office lunch break.“It started as a joke because at lunchtime people would come in very stressed and were sometimes rude to us when they ordered a coffee,” said Pepino.
“It’s our way of saying ‘keep calm and carry on’.
